another crazy weekend part 1 - the usc game

it's been a while since i dropped a good post, but this one will be interesting...promise.

brian, jeremy, john and i went to the usc vs washington game at the coliseum on saturday. it was a really good game. it went down to the wire and it was mad exciting. however, having seen the trojans do their thing in person now, i am getting a gut feeling that we are in trouble down the stretch when we meet oregon and nd. we aren't playing too hot. our D is struggling. they allowed 5 3rd down conversions and offered no pass pressure. it was a little sad. and our offense? i cringe every time booty rolls because he's always centimeters from his next interception. that dude scares me. but we got that W!!

now to the interesting part. after the game, brian and i were stuck in traffic trying to get out of the parking lot. all of a sudden, dwayne jarret walks by with a cop for a bodyguard. i pull my truck over so i can try to get a picture with him. after all, i'm wearing his stinking jersey!!! so i pull over and another copper tells me that i'm blocking traffic and i have to move. so i pull my truck out of the way and jam over to dwayne. i handed brian the camera in the car and told him to be ready with it. brian is a great photographer so i figure i've got it made.

so i get to dwayne and ask him for a picture. he tells me he has to go and that he's real sorry. i look at him with my best shocked face and point to the #8 on my chest. i'm like "dwayne, i'm rocking your jersey...". "sorry dog, i gotta go."

so i'm standing there like a punk right? i finally scrape my pride back up off of the dirty street and we begin to walk away. then brian gets in on it. he says, "ah man, you already sold out."

WHAT?????? did i just hear that right? did brian just tell dwayne jarrett that he sold out because he won't take a picture with me? LOL!!!

so we take a few more steps...i'm starting to laugh a little because brian has some guts on him to say something like that. then i turn around to look at dwayne again. now, he's about 75 feet from me across the street. he looks back at me (cue the cheesy casablanca theme song) and he waves me over. ** hearts **

forgetting that he just punked me, i run over there like a good little slave. dwayne puts his arm on my shoulder and we pose...and wouldn't you know it, brian says "hold on, i gotta turn on the camera." LOL. a few slightly ackward seconds later (after all, we are strangers and he has his arm around me for a little too long, you know?), i take a picture with THE MAN, dwayne stinking jarrett.
