summer vacation...

do you know how hard it is to plan a REAL vacation with a newborn??? lemme spell it out for you.

N-O-T H-A-P-P-E-N-I-N-G

how you gonna fly somewhere? how you gonna drive your car to somewhere with a kid in a car seat screaming bloody murder? where you gonna go that you will actually enjoy instead of paying top dollar for a resort that you only see the inside of the hotel room of??

the solution ladies and gentelemen?

Rent an RV.

** cue price is right jingle **

That's right kids, 5 days and nights with all of the comforts of home right at your fingertips.

  • Bring your own food and cook for yourself. Why worry if "Nick's Burger Barn" will be hosting the local Klan outing?
  • Sleep in the over-the-cabin queen size bed. Why bother with having to remove the comforter with questionable stains on it from your hotel room bed?
  • Pee in your own toilet. Are the little cube toilet paper slivers ever really enough to cover that seat at Arby's ladies?

For only $___.00, you can enjoy all of the comforts of home, all of the time.

That is, until you get the gas bill.

You should consider buying a Corolla instead to travel across the country. I hear they get better gas mileage...

At last! One considerate soul left on Earth with consideration for his fellow man, who doesn't feel the need to inflict "a kid in a car seat screaming bloody murder" on those around him. We seem to have become a narcissistic culture which no longer believes that becoming a parent involves sacrificing some of your choices; it seems most parents feel these days that the whole world has to put up with their unruly kids because they insist on "having it all."

This is why you and Sonia and Gabriel will always be welcome in Casa Keith and Cecile. I'm also going to go out on a limb and predict that Gabriel is going to grow up with his daddy's respect and consideration for those around him. Take note, world! You heard it here first...
