france vs. italy

call your winner now. it'll be too late to jump the bandwagon once the game is over. sammy and i are thinking of maybe throwing a world cup 2006 final party to watch the game sunday. not sure yet. details to follow if we decide to do it.

my opinion is that france is going to win this show. they are a strong team and they are playing top notch soccer right now. not to take away from italy too much, they deserve their germany win. that was amazing, and proof that you have to play up until the whistle.

i would have like to see spain or el salvador in the finals, but oh well. there's always next year.

by the way, i think i am planning to start watching some galaxy games when the season starts again. anyone interested in catching some games with me (ben and carey? just kidding)? i get the feeling it won't be very hard to get tickets. :)

we'll see the galaxy when they play our columbus crew.. haha. BTW, one of the best soccer logos ever. the columbus crew.

there's a huge soccer ball stuck to the side of a building downtown. It's very cool.

weren't you the one who told me that i was watching a great dodger game because there were no hits and the pitchers were doing their job?

and for the record, they've only had one tie all season. the rest of the games had scores.

yet again? son, that was the first time. :)

actually, someone told me that they recently ended a game cuz it was like 16 innings in and it was the middle of the night. maybe i had bad info.

the reason that games end in ties in soccer is that they're stinking tired. 90 min + 30 of overtime sprinting and running. that's a long time.

and i did a little research. apparently, a baseball game could end in a tie. if both teams run out of pitchers, they will call the game. 2002 all star game, that happened.

just for the record.

learn the game son.

i said COULD. i know it was an all star game, and i know it has never happened in any other game in history. but you said NEVER. i just gave a scenario where it COULD.

form my logic class, i learned that when one offers an absolute, it is discredited by one example to the contrary.

welcome to the land of discredited arguments. next time, don't say never. :)
