24 - jack bauer is my hero

i am sick and i didn't get anywhere near as much sleep as i should have over the last 2 weeks. i came home from camp (another blog coming soon about this once I get my pics out of my camera) and i should have gone right to bed. but you know what i did instead?

4 hours of jack bauer.

and it was totally worth it. i woke up with what felt like razor blades in my throat, but it was nothing compared to what jack experienced while being tortured by the chinese for the last 2 years. i feel like i don't want to say a word because it hurts so much, and i am inspired by the fact that jack didn't speak one word for the 2 years of his captivity.

jack bauer is my hero.

the 4 hour season opener(s) did not disappoint. wayne palmer is now president, regina king is...whatever, who cares? the lovely and talented regina king is dope no matter what her role is.

chloe is back!!!!! plus, she got an obvious promotion and has both of her men working for her. what pimp(ette).

the story for the new season revolves around a plot from militants to detonate 5 briefcase nukes on american soil. they were successful in detonating one in los angeles (valencia to be precise). the rest will need to be found and disarmed in the next 20 hours. awesome.

so what did i learn from watching 24 last night?

• jack bauer will never die. he is like elijah...someday the chariot will come to get him, but until then, he will continue to kick terrorist butt


• NEVER doubt jack bauer. wayne palmer, quit trying to be the president and let jack do it


• if your neighbor looks like kumar, kill him immediately


• if you are ever in a situation where your hands are in handcuffs and a man with a large gun is watching over you, pretend to be dead until he comes near. then bite his jugular. WWJD?

** cue cheesy patriotic music **

i cannot say enough about this show. our young men need great role models for their future. what better example can we give than jack bauer? courageous, yet sensitive. loyal, yet totally shady. strong, yet cries when he shoots his friends in the neck (RIP curtis/seal). large as life, yet wears a 28/20 jean.
