i was flipping through the radio stations on the way to work the other day and i caught a segment on steve harvey's show where he was interviewing a dude from the NAACP. let me say up front that i heard about 4 minutes of the interview, so maybe i missed something worth listening to. in fact, i'll give dude the benefit of the doubt that he was not completely insightful and inspiring the rest of the interview.but what i heard...lemme tell you.

he was talking about how historically, opressed groups (specifically black americans in this context) have succeeded in trumping their opressors by first getting laws on the books and then fighting to have them enforced.

so far so good. i like where he is going. that sounds like a good approach right?

so what did this genious have to offer steve harvey's L.A. audience as the next step in passing legislation to protect black americans? legislation needs to be passed that makes it illegal for law enforcement to use excessive force.
