what a weekend...
this past weekend was very eventful. we had our first vacation as a family (including gabriel) and went to tim and brittany's wedding. i'll give you the broad strokes, since a lot happened.as you well know, last weekend was like living on the sun. it was incredibly hot. keep that in mind while you read on. imagine sweating profusely while all of this happened...
i'll also be keeping a running score to see if the weekend was a success or a failure.
we picked up our RV on thursday and got ready to get on the road. we went to the ralphs nearby and bought food for the week, as well as some dinner. sonia and i had a good laugh about the fact that we had rented this awesome RV, and we were eating dinner in a parking lot 2 miles from our house! it was hilarious. (+1)
we parked our RV on anyways, we got on the road and spent our first night in malibu. we had a spot on a bluff overlooking the ocean so that our back window was a beautiful ocean scene. verynice. very romantic. (+1) then gabriel killed the mood by crying. (-1)
we got on the road early on friday morning to try to get up to rohnert park. now, for those of you that haven't heard of rohnert park (which is everyone except for the 200 that were at the wedding and the people that live there), don't worry. you didn't miss
much.
we got there at about 6pm and it was even hotter than at home (-1). went to the pool with sonia and danielle (+2) and then found out that the generator in the RV that powers the air conditioning was dead. (-7)then the fellas hooked up for some in and out burgers and sex talk (+3) (tim was getting married the next day, what else were we supposed to talk about?)
the next day was the wedding. it was like 105 degrees out there (-2). i was setting up some sound equipment, so i started sweating like a greased pig (-3). and we all know that a fat man sweating is not a pretty sight! even in the shade it was like 96 degrees.anyways, tim and brittany's wedding was beautiful (+5). tim looked sharp. brittany looked beautiful (+10). shoot, even jarrod and ben looked hot. :)
the wedding was very nice. here are a few exerpts from the event:
a very touching moment...i almost cried too (+2)
married at last! (+3)
what is this???? (-3)
brian getting his sexy on (+2)
oh yeah, forgot to mention that the generator works after all (+3)
the next day, son and i headed for morro bay. it was about half way from rohnert park to L.A. we took PCH which was both incredibly beautiful (+2) with its nice views of the coast line, and intensely stressful (-2) to drive with a big old RV and kid that isn't strapped in because he was to eat yet again. shh, don't tell the police i did that.
morro bay was cool. there is this big old rock out in the middle of the ocean. the sunset was really nice too. (+3)
as we were getting ready to leave morro bay this morning, i was outside emptying out the septic tank (i.e. the dumper) (-10) when the coolest thing happened. GABRIEL SMILED. (+50) no not the gas related ones. the real thing. sonia got a picture of it. check out his blog to see it.
we are back now, enjoying the air conditioning of our pad (+5).
overall score: +63
nice......

Post a Commentdropping a cutting board on my toe in the Ralph's parking lot before leaving whittier and having to kind of limp all weekend (-5)
Ben & Carey being across the country and missing it (-45). j/k
such a great story and such great story telling. With the play by play and the video clips (and pics of your smiling baby boy), I almost feel like I was there. Instead, I was cleaning out my garage, but it looks alot more organized and by the time we do get a new vehicle (not a NEW vehicle, just a slightly used vehicle that is new to us), we can fit it in our garage too -- we use our garage for parking the car on the inside in OH. You'll have to come see. whoa, I just realized I need to do like a video tour of the house for you guys... I'll let Carey narrate or "host the tour" what a great idea.
Anyway, adios. love the post.

rolling into the RV spot to return the RV and them not noticing the busted rim. (+100)
