baby names and identity

before i start ranting, i just want to say thanks to everyone that is mad at me for not posting this week. we've been really busy and i haven't had time. but it's nice to know that people are actually reading this blog.

sonia and i have been talking about baby names of course. the main dilemma is what the name sounds like. i like good old latin names because i want them to match my very beaner last name.

but you know, every time you hear a good name, you ask what it means right? at least i do. the name pablo means 'little one' or 'small'. that name doesn't describe me. my momma didn't do her research, or at the very least never expected my belly or my ego!

so now i am thinking that i want my child to have a name that sounds good, but also says something about who they are. when someone asks them what their name means, i want them to be able to say something that means something. like Conner = "hound lover". or maybe Ashton = "ash tree town". :)

the wright clan was joking this morning that we should call the baby Christian Saved Tovar. that would be a very interesting conversation on the playground wouldn't it?

no more suggestions from all of you about baby names, you guys have some busted ideas. i'm not a a big fan of Mousy or George Bush Tovar. instead, i want to hear what your name means and whether or not you feel that it says anything about you.

so let's go. here are some tools to help you on your search.

I don't think anyone has a right to be mad at you for not posting this week. You have a ton on your shoulders between approaching fatherhood, work, traffic to and from work, shepherding, small group facilitating, husbanding,... the list goes on and on. It is your blog and you share when you have something to share, because you give in a dozen other capacities. I, if no one else, give you permission to take breaks between blogs.
