playin' catch up

i've been sick for like a week. all of my activities, including blogging, have gone by the wayside. being outside of my house, i wait until sonia comes home to use the computer cuz she takes the laptop to work. but then when she does get home, i would rather do other things than blog.

anyways, here's the latest.

1) nothing is more depressing than working hard to get your house up to speed, and then seeing it demolished 2.5 years later. i went by the house this week, and it is thrashed. enrique says it's like cooking. no one wants to see how it's made, but they always want to eat it when it comes to the table. hopefully, this will all be worth it in the end. it's supposed to take 6 months, but i'll be happy if we are back in the house before sonia starts school next year.

2) i bought a motorcycle!! finally, i have been waiting for this for a LONG time. it is currently in the shop getting the carb cleaned out. it is clogged from being in a garage for a year. i can't wait. but honestly, i am glad that i waited until now. i probably woulda killed myself trying to do tricks or trying to go 185MPH if i got one as a 16 year old punk. now, i'm looking to hit 65MPH and cruise to Norm's, you know?

3) looks like the gathering website is getting an overhaul, thanks to ben. it will have a blog format, where people can discuss and contribute, and will be much more useful than the site we currently have up, which we haven't touched in months. i'll let you know when we are up and running.

4) sonia is starting to feel the baby kicking and moving inside of her. i have been trying to feel for him, but no dice so far. when i talk to him, i just refer to him as "baby". he doesn't seem to respond.

5) if you have any good name ideas, sonia and i are open to suggestions. we have gotten some good ones, and some bogus ones. keep a few things in mind when you suggest though. don't forget that i have a mad beaner last name, so keep the names at least a little ethnic (i.e no stanley - sorry kristin). and also, we're not hippies or movie stars. you guys can keep the fruit's and constellation names for your own kids. but thanks for your input in advance.

how 'bout Mousy? Mousy Tovar. or you could add sonia's request, and he could be Mousy Elliot. has a nice ring to it, don't you think? besides, when he grows up to be a big bad biker dude, everybody will think it's cool that a big bad biker dude has a name like Mousy.

how about Joaquin Elliot Tovar? or perhaps a different, more ethnic spelling like Juakeen?and maybe he could go by Jua? and then we could say, "Jua the heck, Jua?" kinda like people say, "how you Ben? get it. B-E-N" Yep, I've been getting it all my life. not funny. Anyway, Joaguin's one of those great names we'll never use, but it goes well with your last name.

I'm gonna hand you my NAME book. Alex & I picked it up so that we could let the youth know what their name meant when God named them. It's cool.
