Apple Geniuses

let me start by saying that it is INCREDIBLY hard to see one of those Apple Geniuses. i tried like 4 times to walk into the Pasadena Apple store. the wait times were anywhere from 2-4 hours. shine that.

so I tried to make an appointment online. nope.

as a last resort, I went to the store at 9:55am to make sure that I was the first person in the door. I almost ran over some little boho dude that clearly looked like he needed to eat immediately. I get to the genius bar and he tells me that I have to sign in on this machine. I am typing as fast as I can to make sure that I sign in before boho dude and this other lady. it won't let me sign in! they are getting through, but I can't. Is it because I'm white?

finally, a tech guy helps me sign in at 10:10am, and the wait time is...1.5 hours. Can you believe that? I made an appointment for later in the day and left feeling like I just asked a girl out to the prom and she turned me down.

so then I return at 2 for my appointment and wait another 15 minutes. finally, I get to see a Genius. He takes about 4 minutes to tell me that my iPod is toast and that my warranty ended 3 weeks ago. Prom date choise number 2 just shot me down too. Dang.

so i call up a certain friend of mine (who shall remain anonymous) who was formerly a genius here in los angeles and now works up north...ahem...and he suggested that I overnight it to him so that he can see what he can do.

ah, finally my faith in the geniuses has been restored. prom date choice number 3...my best friends sister...priceless.
