"the fruit of my loin"
if you are reading this blog, chances are you know that Sonia and I are going to have a baby. In a few days, I will post the ultrasound pictures for you guys to muse on.i have had about 5 weeks to consider what this means for my life. i have been running my mind through each scenario, every possibility. in response to those things, I have put together my top 5 commitments to my family for all of you to read and hold me to. Here they go:
- I will raise my child to understand the truths laid out in the Bible from the beginning. I will do my best to teach my child how to have an authentic relationship with Jesus through the "discipline and instruction of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4b), and I will raise him/her up to be my brother/sister in the Lord.
- I will pray for my family daily. I have been praying for Sonia and the baby daily since I learned that she was pregnant. It has been very therapeautic to remember that their fate lies in the hands of God, not in my own protection. I will continue that until my last breath.
- I will be active in every portion of my child's life, from education to activities, to church life and home life.
- Sonia will always come first. I know in my heart that God has given me quite a gift in Sonia, and she will always hold the highest (human) position in my life. I will not lay her to the side to serve my child.
- I will never allow my ministry to interfere in my home.

Cub Scouts uniform huh? Nah, I won't do that. The only paretns that do that are Cub Scount leaders. I said involved, not in charge. I'll make sure not to volunteer my leadership availability to organizations with dorky outfits (no offense Frank). :)
Apple...lol!
"son, this is an Apple computer. I can't buy you diapers anymore because it costs twice as much as a comparable PC because the leaders of the corporation are morons. But it come in a pretty shade of blue!"
this is what it takes to be a dad - i think you've got what it takes
at first, I thought you meant that crazy family picture you have as you avatar. I was like "Why is he making fun of my hair?!"
I agree with the recent comments column suggestion
blogspot doesn't support that. maybe I will move my blog to a place that does.
