house construction

nothing like a good holiday season to slow blogging! i'm sure that no one was losing sleep over my not posting, but I'm back.

my house is officially under construction as of this coming Monday. for those that don't know, we are adding a second story onto our house to make room for the money pit, I mean, our first child.

by the way, who decided that baby stuff was supposed to be as expensive as it is? stinking $200 for a stroller? seriously man, i'm about to create my own out of a Ralph's shoping cart and some duct tape.

sorry for the diversion, where was I? Oh yeah, we are adding 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and extending the house to enclose the patio area. all in all, I think that the house will be banging when we're done. almost twice the size too...

we are currently in the process of packing up some things and covering our remaining possessions with plastic. it is kinda creepy to tell you the truth, it feels like we are abandoning our house entirely.

i have been trying to explain to bob what is going to happen (he's coming with us of course) but I don't know if he gets it. he just keeps trying to hump the pillows like I'm not even talking to him.......

we'll be staying with craig and judy (sonia's folks) for a while since we have a 30's era house that is liable to have lead in it. babies and lead don't mix very well. it's dangerous to the health of the baby for sonia to be there, so we'll be residents of whittier for a while...which is cool since sonia and i are white. does anybody know where to get that shirt that says "I'm whittier than you"??
